Scope of Project:  Rumbo is looking for two fellows to join our team! The Outreach Fellow and the Research Fellow will help advance the work of Rumbo by creating awareness of the project and identifying needs through research. This paid fellowship program will run from June to November of 2024. 

•Salary: $35,000/year
• 30 hours per week

Outreach Fellow

The Outreach Fellow will plan and coordinate activities designed to engage communities in our upcoming public park project. Our engagement efforts will be focused in collecting information from community members to help inform our planning and approach, as well as to build a list of supporters and advocates for leadership development. The Outreach Fellow will serve as a liaison between the Rumbo project and the public.

A good fit for this role is someone who feels comfortable speaking to diverse audiences, has flexibility to travel to and attend community meetings, and has a great ability to connect and listen to others. In this role, the Outreach Fellow will help us identify the community’s biggest assets, needs and help design effective ways to engage a broader population.

Research FELLOW

The Research Fellow will record, compile, process and analyze data relating to Rumbo focus areas. The fellow will document results and observations in writing as well as presenting results to others. The Research fellow will prepare research results for publication or presentation at public meetings to include performing literature reviews, community engagement data analysis and reporting, and writing results and discussions.

A good fit for this role is someone who is experienced in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting, and is interested in asking the best questions of others. This fellow must have an attention to detail and have experience with systems like: Airtable, Excel, Google Suites and others. This fellow will create advancement of scholarly work that will inform Rumbo of its direction and opportunities for data-informed decision-making. Moreover, this fellow will be the steward of a database, support polling efforts and help evaluate the work of Rumbo.
